Week 30

My 30th week of school was nothing but awesome, and here is what I did. First, we started writing our movies. Each student pitched an idea and we voted on which 5 would be created. Mine didn’t win, but I really do not mind because I got placed in a really cool movie called Schools Out. It is about a group of children arriving to school to notice that all the teachers are missing and what the do with no rules. Next, my best friend Finley was entered into the Dogwood Art Show with her reenactment of Roy Liechtenstein’s art. She even came out with winning against all of the other 5th graders that were entered. Finally, there was the annual track meet. I was entered for long jump and was taken out of school to compete. I didn’t win, but still had a great time. That is whatFile Apr 08, 9 06 57 AM I did this week

A Really Fun 28th Week

This week was so awesome and every day was a different activity. First, the main part of this week is Dr, Seuss Week. This is where each day we honored different book. On Monday it was PJs, Tuesday was book character, Wednesday was dress wacky, and finally Thursday was crazy socks and hats. Another fun thing was getting to present our expert papers. Mine was on Lebanese Cooking and made a think link on that topic as well. Both of these are on my blog, so if you want to see it just scroll down. To finish the week, we took an all day field trip to a group of caverns where we explored the cave that were full of cool formations. Then we had lunch and went to the gift shop. Lastly, it was Easter. We got Friday off to celebrate. I got to dye eggs and receive gifts from the Easter bunny. That is what I did during the 28th week of school.File Mar 28, 1 52 32 PM IMG_6125

My Super Spring Break

My spring break was out of this world. I went to Cancun, Mexico at a resort called Club Med. The first 3 days were really exiting. I did snorkeling, sailing, and did a color party. The coolest thing the resort had was a flying trapeze. On the second day my sister and I both did it. The 4th day we went on an excursion to a small island of the resort. We took a boat to the island where we saw Mayan  architecture and stopped by a turtle farm. The farm was made to keep the turtles safe until they became old enough to have a better chance of survival. Then we rebounded the boat and stopped at the beach where we swam. Then we went home. My spring break was fantastic.

Week 26: Testing Time

Have you ever imagined taking three common core tests back to back? That is exactly what I did his week. Firstly, on Wednesday, we took ELA part one. You get a text and write a 4 paragraph paper on the main ideas of each articles. Next, on Thursday, I took ELA part two and it was very similar, but a different form of writing. Lastly, on Friday, we took math part one and it was very simple. These tests are called TN Ready and they are a paper and pencil common core test. On Monday I’m talking the S.S. part one. These tests are hard, but fun. Actually,  it wasn’t that bad because their was politics to watch and double recess. Tha bwas my testing week.File Mar 04, 10 14 56 AM

Week 25

My 25th week of school was really great and very exiting. Here is some of the things I did. First, we got paired up with new partners for our new song. The two groups chose between  conjunctions or prepositions to write an education song about. My group chose conjunctions and we have already picked out the music. Next week we will start writing the song. Second, the school PTO paid for the UT steel drum band to come and preform. They started out with some fun music, and then they did a bongo routine. After that, they played classical music and a game of guess that song. To end the concert they took four teacher volunteers to play music with them. Lastly, we had a dads and donuts breakfast. The kids and their dads ate breakfast in the gym before school. T had safety so I couldn’t go, but I ended up getting a donut. That is what I did the week!IMG_5783
